After crossing Kutch, Saurashtra, the effect of Cyclone Biparjoy will be visible in South Rajasthan on June 16. Under its influence, there will be rains in South Haryana on June 17, 18 and 19, but the speed of the cyclone will reduce considerably, said IMD.
According to reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is busy monitoring the Biporjoy Cyclone. He is set to head to Gujarat to access the ground situation.

IMD said that Monsoon may also come early due to the cyclone. The monsoon arrived at South Coast on time. It added that the monsoon will strengthen after June 18.
IMD says wind speed may fall to 85 Kmph on the morning of June 16. Cyclone Biparjoy will then enter Rajasthan on June 17 but the speed will be very low.
IMD DG said that Kutch district may withness the maximum speed of the storm.
CPRO Western Railway said that 69 trains have been cancelled, 33 trains have been short-terminated, while 27 trains short-originated as a precautionary measure, in view of safety of passengers.

He said the government's aim is to ensure 'Zero Casualty' and minimize the possible damage. As cyclone Biparjoy approaches Gujarat's Kutch district, with the potential for significant damage, the administration has taken measures to ensure the safety of the population. As of Tuesday, approximately 21,000 people from various coastal districts have been relocated to temporary shelters. Additionally, several NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams are on standby. The evacuation process is ongoing, and the goal is to shift all targeted individuals to safer locations by the end of the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the cyclone has the potential to cause extensive damage, primarily affecting Gujarat's Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Jamnagar districts.
The Indian Army has kept flood relief columns ready in Bhuj, Jamnagar, Gandhidham, Dharangdhra, Vadodara, and Gandhinagar as well as in forward locations like Naliya, Dwarka, and Amreli. The Army authorities have also jointly planned the relief operations with civil administration as well as NDRF.

The NDRF has stationed as many as 17 teams and the SDRF has deployed 12 teams in cyclone-affected districts of Gujarat.

The Western Railway on Monday short-terminated more than 50 trains heading to coastal areas of Gujarat in view of powerful cyclone 'Biparjoy' and is considering cancellation of several trains over the next three days, a release said. The WR is taking various measures including setting up disaster management rooms, help desks, and keeping relief trains ready.
The wind speed is being monitored at five locations in Bhavnagar division, at eight sites in Rajkot and at three spots in Ahmedabad division on an hourly basis and station masters have been instructed to regulate or stop trains when the wind velocity exceeds 50 kmph, as per the release, as reported by PTI.
The North Western Railway (NWR) has cancelled some train services as the cyclonic storm ‘Biparjoy’ is likely to enter southwest Rajasthan on June 16, officials said on Monday. "Keeping in view the safety and security in view of the cyclonic storm Biprajoy in the Bay of Bengal, train services are being cancelled/partially cancelled by the Railways," the NWR said in a statement, as quoted by PTI.
Radheshyam Sharma, in charge of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, said that the cyclonic storm Biparjoy is likely to weaken and enter south-western Rajasthan as a depression on June 16.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked officials to "take every possible measure to ensure evacuation of people living in vulnerable locations". He issued the directions at a meeting to review prepardeness for Cyclone Biparjoy. "Ensure maintenance of essential services with preparedness for immediate restoration in event of damage," he told officials.
The Prime Minister's Office issued a statement saying that the Union Home Ministry is reviewing every development concerning Cyclone Biparjoy 24x7. "Twelve NDRF teams have been deployed so far and 15 are on standby," the PMO statement read.
PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting in Delhi, where he and Union Home Minister Amit Shah evaluated the preparedness in dealing with the cyclone's effects before and after landfall. "Cyclone Biparjoy will become an 'extremely severe cyclonic storm' in the next 12 hours. Till June 14, it will move towards north and then towards Saurashtra-Kutch coast, which it will cross by noon on June 15," says IMD scientist Dr Anand Kumar Das.

Cyclone Biparjoy has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm and will intensify even further in the next 48 hours, said the MeT department on Thursday, adding that the cyclone will move towards northwest India during the next three days.
It also predicted a "mild" monsoon onset over Kerala and "weak" progress beyond the southern peninsula under its influence.
Meteorologists, however, said the cyclone has been impacting the intensity of the monsoon and the onset over Kerala would be "mild", as per a PTI report.
According to the IMD, the cyclone will have an impact on Mumbai, Goa, and Gujarat's coastal district of Porbandar. Fishermen in Gujarat have been warned not to venture into the Arabian Sea till June 14.
Monsoon Arrives In Kerala
On Thursday, the India Meteorological Department declared the onset of monsoon over Kerala after the southwest monsoon reached Indian mainland. The monsoon onset has, however, come a week late this year than the usual onset on June 1. "The southwest monsoon has set in over Kerala today, June 8," the weather agency said in a statement on Thursday.
"The monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of the south Arabian Sea and some parts of the central Arabian Sea, entire Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, most parts of south Tamil Nadu, the remaining parts of the Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar and some more parts of southwest, central and northeast Bay of Bengal today (Thursday)," the weather department added.
Earlier, it was predicted that the monsoon would arrive on June 4 in Kerala but later Skymet predicted the monsoon to arrive on June 7 with an error margin of three days. With a deviation of 7 days, the southwest monsoon usually sets in Kerala on June 1.
