New Delhi: Liquor baron fugitive Vijay Mallya on Sunday faced aggressive slurs from the crowd at Oval cricket ground in London, UK. Mallya had come to watch the India vs Australia World Cup match, where India beat Australia by 36 runs.

Mallya, who was at the Hobbs gate, the main entrance of the Oval Cricket ground was trying to leave from the Oval, when the excited crowds started screaming “Gali Gali mei shor hai, Vijay Mallya chor hai” slogans.

Vijay Mallya, who is an accused of defrauding Indian banks to the tune of Rs 9,000 crore  said, "I am making sure my mother doesn't get hurt", as crowd shouted slogans as the fugitive tried to leave from the ground.

The same resulted in a huge brawl, as security guards started pushing the journalists and cricket fans. Even the police looked hapless as fans gathered in number.







Finally, Mallya’s car came after 10 minutes and he got an escape. On being asked questions, he preferred to maintain silence.

Soon after the match was over, Mallya tweeted a picture of him and his son, saying “Great to watch cricket with my son and even sweeter to see India’s emphatic victory over Australia. Congratulations to @imVkohli and his team”.
