Covid Update: India reports 58,419 new COVID19 cases (less than 60,000 after 81 days), 87,619 discharges & 1576 deaths in last 24 hrs as per Health Ministry.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 39,10,19,083 samples tested for COVID 19 up to 19th June 2021. Of these, 18,11,446 samples were tested yesterday.


The Ministry of Health informed that the recovery rate has increased to 96.27%, Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 3.43%. and the daily positivity rate at 3.22% .


Maharashtra


With the Covid-19 situation improving in Pune, Mumbai has again taken the lead in terms of active Covid cases in the state, accounting for 18,764 of the state's 134,747 ill patients, health officials said here on Saturday.

Pune comes next with 17,888 active cases, followed by Thane (13,970), Kolhapur (11,453) and Sangli (10,545) in the list with 10,000-plus active patients.

In the 5,000-plus range, Ratnagiri and Satara figure below the top five with 7,766 and 7,149 cases, respectively, followed by Sindhudurg with 5,372 active cases.


The state's current Covid-19 toll is 116,674 with the overall Covid tally stands at 59,54,508. With a recovery rate of 95.73 per cent, 56,99,983 patients have been fully cured and discharged till date.


Kerala


The daily Covid caseload continues to remain high in Kerala with the state reporting 12,443 new cases on Saturday out of the 1,21,743 samples tested in the past 24 hours, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a statement.

The state presently has 1,06,861 active cases, the Chief Minister informed. The day also saw 12,443 people getting cured of the disease, taking the state's total number of recoveries to 26,78,499. Thiruvananthapuram district saw 1,777 people turning positive on Saturday, the highest among the 14 districts of the state.

The state also reported 115 Covid deaths on Saturday, taking its overall death toll to 11,948.


Andhra Pradesh


Andhra Pradesh on Saturday reported 5,647 new Covid cases, pushing the state's overall tally to over 18.4 lakh, even as its active caseload dropped to 65,244.

As many as 8,014 more persons have recovered in the past 24 hours, raising the state's total number of recoveries to over 17.6 lakh.

East Godavari district reported the highest number of cases at 1,068, followed by Chittoor (854), West Godavari (758), Prakasam (451), Krishna (435), Kadapa (388), Guntur (360), Anantapur (326), Srikakulam (245), Nellore (235), Visakhapatnam (215), Kurnool (173) and Vizianagaram (166).
