Covid In India: Delhi Records Highest One-Day Tally In 15 Months, Maharashtra Sees 2 More Deaths

Delhi on Saturday recorded 1,396 Covid-19 cases with a 31.9 percent positivity rate, the highest in 15 months, while Maharashtra recorded 660 new cases and two deaths, active cases stand at 6,047.

Delhi on Saturday logged 1,396 Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 31.9 per cent, the highest in 15 months, according to data shared by the city government's health department. Maharashtra, on the other hand, recorded 660 new cases and two deaths, bringing the total number of active cases to 6,047, according to the state health bulletin. 

Covid Cases In Delhi:

According to data shared by the city government's health department on Saturday, Delhi had 1,396 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 31.9 percent, the highest in 15 months. On January 14 of last year, the national capital had a positivity rate of 30.6 percent.

The new cases brought Delhi's Covid-19 total to 20,21,593. The death toll has now reached 26,560, according to a health department bulletin. Covid-19 was the primary cause of death in one of the most recent fatalities, while it was incidental in the other four, according to the ministry.

On Friday, the department did not issue a bulletin.

On Thursday, Delhi reported 1,527 Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 27.77% and two deaths.

On Wednesday, the national capital's daily tally of Covid-19 cases surpassed 1,000 for the first time in more than seven months, with the positivity rate standing at 23.8 per cent.

Covid Cases In Maharashtra: 

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 660 new cases along with two deaths with active cases standing at 6,047, the state health bulletin said.

According to PTI, which cited an official, Maharashtra reported 1,152 Covid-19 cases on Friday, an increase from the previous day's tally, and four deaths. He added that it brought the total to 81,54,529 and the toll to 1,48,475. On Thursday, 1,086 cases and one death were reported.

According to a civic official, Mumbai reported 284 COVID-19 cases and one death on Friday, bringing the state total to 11,60,103 and the death toll to 19,753.

The 274 cases discovered on Thursday were added to the tally, according to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official. He added that a 91-year-old man with comorbidities, including acute kidney injury, died during the day.

The recovery count rose by 275 in the last 24 hours to 11,38,707, leaving the city with a caseload of 1,643, he said. According to BMC data, the recovery rate is 98.2%, and the overall growth rate of cases between April 7 and 13 is 0.0189%.
