New Delhi: Fresh Covid-19 cases continued to emerge as India recorded 1,41,986 cases on Saturday. There have been, 40,895 recoveries, and 285 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the government data on Saturday. Daily positivity rate stands at 9.28 per cent.
Active cases are 4,72,169 and total recoveries stand at 3,44,12,740. The total death toll is 4,83,178 while total vaccination stands at 150.06 crore doses.

A total of 3,071 Omicron cases were reported in 27 States/UTs of India so far. The number of persons recovered is 1,203, said the Union Health Ministry.
Maharasthra has the highest number of Omicron cases which stands at 876 while the national capital has 513 cases so far.
The precautionary Covid-19 vaccination dose or Booster dose for health and frontline workers and senior citizens above 60 years of age with comorbidities will start from January 10.
The eligible population who already received their two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and eligible for the booster dose will not be required to undergo new registration, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.
Several states have already imposed restrictions like night curfew and weekend curfew.
Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who had cancelled major election rallies owing to the Covid-19 surge, will start campaigning virtually for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls from Saturday.
The active cases comprise 1.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 97.57 per cent, the union health ministry said.
