New Delhi: 51,667 new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in India in the last 24 hours while 64,527 infected persons recovered from the infection. Meanwhile, 1,329 persons succumbed to the infection.


On the other hand, 30.79 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Out of these, 60.73 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

India's active caseload remains over 6 lakh mark with a total of 6,12,868 active cases.


2,91,28,267 total recoveries have been recorded across the country so far. 


Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 43rd consecutive day. The recovery rate is at 96.66 percent while the Weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent, currently at 3.00 percent.

The daily positivity rate is at 2.98 percent, less than 5 percent for 18 consecutive days.


A total of 39,95,68,448 samples tested up to June 24. Of which 17,35,781 samples were tested yesterday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed.


Covid Situation In States


Maharashtra's tally crossed the 60 lakh mark, catapulting it to the fourth slot globally, health officials said here on Thursday.


As of Thursday, Maharasthra has reported a total of 60,07,431 Covid cases, higher than France which has recorded a tally of 57,62,322 till date, and figures at No. 4 in the world behind the US, India, and Brazil.


Compared to 508 deaths declared on Wednesday, the state reported 556 fatalities on Thursday, including 197 new deaths and 359 earlier casualties, taking the state's overall Covid death toll to 119,859, the worst in the country.


The number of fresh cases fell below the 10K-level to 9,844 on Thursday, much less than the record peak of 68,631 reported on April 18, taking the state's overall Covid tally to 60,07,431.


The daily deaths decreased from 23 a day earlier to 10 on Thursday, taking the country's commercial capital's total fatalities to 15,348.


The state's death rate was reported at 2 percent on Thursday, while the number of active cases remained below the 2 lakh level at 121,767.


However, as many as 9,371 fully cured persons returned home, taking the state's total number of recoveries to 57,62,661, with a recovery rate of 95.93.


Meanwhile, Delhi recorded eight deaths and 109 fresh cases of coronavirus infection on Thursday as the city's positivity rate dipped to 0.14 percent, according to data shared by the Health department here.


The new fatalities have pushed the death toll due to the disease in the city to 24,948.


On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 111 Covid-19 cases and seven fatalities, while the positivity rate stood at 0.15 percent.


The city's infection rate, which had reached 36 percent in the last week of April, has dipped below 0.20 percent now.


Despite the recent fall in daily cases, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has cautioned that chances of a third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic are quite real, asserting that his government is preparing on a "war-footing" to combat it.


Tamil Nadu recorded 6,162 fresh coronavirus cases, including three returnees from Andhra Pradesh, pushing the overall caseload to 24.49 lakh while the toll mounted to 31,901 with 155 additional deaths.


As many as 9,046 people got discharged, taking the total recoveries to 23,67,831 leaving 49,845 active infections, a medical bulletin said on Thursday.


The number of Covid-19 related fatalities in the state capital also reached 8,131.


As many as 28 victims were patients without any co-morbidity or pre-existing illness including a 26-year-old girl from Krishnagiri who succumbed due to Covid-19 pneumonia.
