New Delhi: The prominent Congress leaders will hold press conferences across the country in the upcoming week over the National Monetisation Pipeline plan during which they are likely to accuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government of selling the country’s assets.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had earlier alleged Prime Minister Modi “is in the process of selling the crown jewels of this country” built by the previous governments with public money over 70 years.

Gandhi said earlier on Tuesday the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that nothing happened in India for 70 years, but now all assets created in all these years are being sold.

The Congress had earlier on Monday hit out at the government after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled Rs 6 lakh crore National Monetisation Pipeline, which will cover a wide array of sectors ranging from road and railway assets, and airports to power transmission lines and gas pipelines.
“Sale of country's properties worth Rs 6 lakh crore -- roads, rail, mines, telecom, power, gas, airports, ports, sports stadium...Modi ji will sell everything from the earth to the sky. If there is BJP, then the assets of the country will not be saved,” Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet in Hindi using the hashtag “#StopSellingIndia”.
