NEW DELHI: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took a swipe at BJP using the #TenYearChallenge over its inefficiency in building the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The parliamentarian’s pictorial post on Twitter suggested that not a single stone/boulder has moved in the last ten years, while the BJP's headquarters had seen an enormous change from a bungalow to a multistorey complex.

Tharoor’s dig comes amid demands by Hindutva organisations, including its ideological parent RSS, for a law to construct a temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. Congress, as well as other Opposition parties, are claiming that the saffron party will never construct Ram Temple at Ayodhya as it is its poll stunt.

BJP chose to respond to Tharoor's tweet using #5YearChallenge hashtag and said the number of toilets in the country have astronomically risen from 38% to 95%.

Miffed with the BJP over the delay in the construction of Ram temple, the RSS also came up with a new date for the construction of the temple in Ayodhya which is 2025. Speaking at an event during Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh, RSS No. 2, Bhaiyyaji Joshi said that the growth of country will speed up after the construction of Ram mandir in 2025.

His comment is being seen as a taunt at PM Narendra Modi's recent interview in which he said that his government would wait for the Supreme Court decision for the construction of the temple.
