New Delhi: At a time when the common man has been hit hard by rising petrol and diesel prices, CNG rates was increased for the second consecutive day in the national capital on Thursday, adding to the woes.


Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) on Thursday raised CNG price in New Delhi by Rs 2.5 per kg.  Now, for a kilo of CNG one will have to shell out Rs 69.11.

IGL retails CNG and piped cooking gas in the national capital and adjoining cities. The hike in CNG prices comes amid Rs 10 per litre hike in petrol and diesel prices in 17 days and a Rs 50 per cylinder raise in the cooking gas LPG rates.

Karnal and Kaithal - Rs 77.77 per kg


Kanpur, Hamirpur and Fatehpur - Rs 80.90 per kg


Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand - Rs 79.38 per kg


The current hike in CNG price may have an impact on the operations of ride services such as Uber and Ola.


However, petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged on Thursday after prices witnessed over 14 revisions in 16 days since March 22.  Going by the price notification of state fuel retailers, petrol in Delhi is sold at Rs 105.41 per litre and diesel for Rs 96.67 per litre.


A record 137-day hiatus in fuel prices ended on March 22. On the same day, the price of a 14.2-kg LPG cylinder was raised to Rs 949.50 in Delhi.
