The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday defended its actions following a scuffle between the Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Parliament complex during the recently concluded Winter Session. Addressing questions about the incident, CISF Deputy Inspector General (operations) Shrikant Kishore said there was no lapse on the part of the force.
"There was no lapse (on part of the force)... by lapse, if you mean some weapons were allowed inside, then I can tell you that no weapon was allowed...," Kishore stated, as quoted by news agency PTI. The incident, which took place on December 19 at the 'Makar Dwar' of the Parliament House Complex, involved BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, who were injured during the altercation between opposition and ruling BJP MPs.

CISF On Allegations From MPs During Parliament Winter Session
When asked about the counter-allegations from the MPs regarding who pushed whom, Kishore remarked that the CISF would refrain from commenting on the accusations made by lawmakers, adding that the force would "choose to keep quiet when the honourable members make allegations." He also confirmed that no internal inquiry was being conducted by the CISF into the incident.
Delhi Police filed an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP, following a complaint from the BJP.
Kishore further clarified that MPs entering Parliament are not subjected to screening or frisking as per protocol. He also responded to queries regarding complaints against the CISF since it took over the responsibility for Parliament security in June. The officer stated that MPs, employees, and visitors have expressed satisfaction with the force's performance. "We have trained our personnel for this duty... everyone, including the MPs, is contributing to further improving the security of the complex. Parliament security is paramount," Kishore said, as per PTI.
Regarding concerns about the recovery of cash from a seat in the House during the last session, he noted that the security department of Parliament would be the competent authority to address any questions on the matter.
