New Delhi: YSR Congress President, Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday, triggered a furore in the ruling party of Andhra Pradesh by saying that state’s CM Chandrababu Naidu should be shot dead in public.

His statement came during a public meeting in the district of Kurnool on Thursday night. Jagan said that the CM has cheated people and has not fulfilled any of his poll promises. He said that there is nothing wrong if leaders like him were shot dead in public.

Jagan said: “Naidu should be shot dead for cheating people of Andhra Pradesh and his false promises and double-speak on every issue. Naidu made so many promises to farmers, women, minorities, unemployed youth, but failed to deliver. He is very treacherous.”

Not only this, he compared Naidu to demons saying “he is like Kaliyug Rakshas.”

He accused Naidu of conspiring and taking away 21 MLAs of his party.

With this, Reddy has invited stern criticisms from the members of the ruling party in the state. Telugu Desam leaders filed police complaints on Friday against Reddy after his comment.

Jagan was addressing public, during a campaign for a bypoll at Nandyala Assembly, which is to take place on August 24, due to sudden demise of sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy. Both the parties are campaigning with full vigour for the bypoll which is has become a matter of prestige for both the parties.

Accroding to reports, Jagan also compared TDP to 'Kaurav Sena' from the epic of Mahabharata. Referring to Naidu’s party as ‘Kaurav Sena’, Jagan said that it must be defeated during the bypoll which is a war between good and evil.
