New Delhi: Amid tug of war between centre and Kolkata government over CBI probe against state Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar over the Saradha Chit fund scam; states top-cops mother has come out and has pled that her son is not guilty.

Speaking to ABP News, Rajeev Kumar’s mother has alleged that a probe against her son is being done as central government was agitated over West Bengal government’s denial of permission of letting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s chopper land in Kolkata.

Speaking on the issue, she said “My son is not guilty and can never indulge in anything wrong”. She futher said that “I just spoke to him over the phone and he told me he was doing fine. “My blessings are with him and he should have faith that nothing would go wrong.”

"If he had been wrong, why would the CM come in his support?" she added.

Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal has on Sunday denied permission for Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath's chopper to land in the state ahead of an election rally. The firebrand BJP leader was scheduled to address the "Ganatantra Bachao Rally" at Balurghat in South Dinajpur district at 10:30 am but could not attend the rally after permission was denied for his helicopter to land near the venue. Yogi later addressed the gathering through a telephone call and his speech was broadcasted using an audio link.

"The TMC government didn't allow me to come and meet you all. That is why I had to resort to Digital India of Modi-ji to address you. This TMC government is anti-people, anti-democratic and have compromised with national security," Adityanath said.
