New Delhi: Disappointed by the Supreme Court's order of fixing the schedule of hearing of Ayodhya land dispute cases in January next year, the Sangh affiliate VHP demanded an ordinance to be brought by the BJP-led central government in Parliament's Winter Session. Alok Kumar, the right-wing outfit's international working president said "the Supreme court has again postponed the hearing. Our strong belief now says it is not appropriate to keep waiting eternally." He said VHP will intensify its campaign in the coming weeks to compel the government on bringing an ordinance in Parliament that would pave the way for the construction of a grand Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier this month, Alok Kumar  had set the "deadline" for the government to bring the ordinance in Parliament by the year-end.

Before the apex court's decision of postponing the hearing to January, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said Hindus are running out of patience and feared about the consequences if the verdict does not come in their favour.

The Supreme Court today morning  fixed the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute cases for the first week of January next year before an appropriate bench, which will decide the schedule of hearing. A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, said the appropriate bench will decide the future course of hearing in January next year on the appeals filed against the Allahabad High Court verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case.
