Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday hailed the Border Security Forces (BSF) for taking care of the country's border due to which he can sleep "peacefully without any tension". Addressing soldiers of the paramilitary force in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh on the occasion of BSF's 59th raising day, he said the country need not worry once the "protectors of the borders take the front".
"Whether it is the Pakistan border or the Bangladesh border that comes under the BSF, whenever the enemy makes a move, it is a tense situation but when the BSF says that their soldiers are present, I am able to sleep peacefully without any tension," the Home Minister said.
"Once the protectors of the borders take the front, nobody needs to worry about the borders. I, as a Home Minister, am very proud of you," he added.
"I want to tell this to you all, I tour across the country, the whole nation is proud of the Border Security Force and salute our brave jawans," Shah added.
The Home Minister further said the country was able to successfully G20 Summit and Chandrayaan-3 mission as the country's borders are safe due to "your sacrifice and penance".
"A country can never be developed and prosperous if its borders are not secure. Under PM Modi's leadership, the country has progressed in every field. Whether it is the successful organisation of the G 20 or the Chandrayaan-3, all of this is only possible because the borders of the country are safe due to your sacrifice and penance. BSF is the root of the development of this country..." he said.
PM Narendra Modi also lauded the force in a post X, formerly Twitter. "On BSF’s Raising Day, we laud this excellent force, which has made a mark as a guardian of our frontiers. Their valour and unwavering spirit in protecting our nation is a testament to their dedication. I would also like to appreciate the role of BSF during rescue and relief work in the wake of natural disasters," the PM said in the post.
