Former MP from Kaiserganj and Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was denied a ticket from Uttar Pradesh in this Lok Sabha election due to sexual harassment allegations, said on Monday that he believes he will never get another chance from the BJP.

When asked if the allegations had cost him a poll ticket in May, the former MP mentioned, "My son has got a ticket." Karan Bhushan Singh has won the constituency, which his father had represented since 2009, in the subsequent general election.

"The BJP will never give me a chance now. I know the party will not give me a chance. I don't dream like Mungerilal. Those who want to, can," NDTV quoted Brij Bhushan Singh saying.

Brij Bhushan Faces Charges of Sexual Harassment

The former Wrestling Federation chief has been accused of sexually harassing several women wrestlers. Amid the controversy and continued protests by top wrestlers last year, he was removed from his position and barred from contesting the Lok Sabha election. As a result, his son contested instead of him.

The trial began last week, with Brij Bhushan Singh facing charges under IPC for sexual harassment, use of force against a woman, and criminal intimidation. He denied any wrongdoing, and said "When I have not committed any mistake, why will I admit it?"

Today, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was on a visit to his former parliamentary constituency in the Gonda district of UP. He has also been to Paraspur to meet the family of Samajwadi Party leader, Om Prakash Singh, who had been murdered in broad daylight.

On the Yogi Adityanath government, he said, "does not support criminals". "The police are working on the murder case. I demand financial help from the Chief Minister," he also said.
