The BJP announced termination of its member Naveen Kumar Jindal on Sunday shortly after it had announced his suspension from the party. He had been terminated "for expressing thoughts communal disharmony on social media."
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday suspended its spokesperson Nupur Sharma from the party for six years for her controversial statement on Prophet Mohammad during a TV debate show. Earlier in the day, the saffron party had issued a statement saying that it respects all religions and "strongly denounces" insult of any religious personality or religion.

Two persons who allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a minor girl In Hyderabad were arrested by the Moghalpura police on Saturday.
According to the police, the victim went missing from her house on May 31 and a complaint was made by the family to the Moghalpura police the same evening. The next morning the girl was found at Sultan Shahi and the police shifted her to Bharosa centre after coming to know about the sexual assault.
The girl told the police that on May 31 while she was waiting near the Pahadishareef Kaman, a person Shaik Kaleem Ali (36) of Kishanbagh approached her and enquired the purpose of her presence at the isolated spot. When the victim told them she was going to her parents' house Kaleem asked her to sit in the car and he would drop the girl at her parents' house.
However, Kaleem instead of taking the girl to her parents' house at Pahadishareef took her to the house of Mohammed Luqman Ahmed Yazdani (36) located at Kondurg village in Ranga Reddy district where she was sexually assaulted by both of them.
The next morning Kaleem took the girl in his car to Sultan Shahi and dropped her off.
On a complaint from the family of victim, the police booked a case and arrested Kaleem and Yazdani. They were remanded.

Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said he has tested positive for coronavirus and is in home isolation.
Fadnavis, who is the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, had earlier also contracted the viral infection in October 2020.
On Sunday, the former state chief minister in a tweet said, "I have tested #COVID19 positive and in home isolation.
Taking medication & treatment as per the doctor's advice. Those who have come in contact with me are advised to get Covid tests done. Take care everyone!"
Earlier, when Fadnavis contracted the infection in 2020, he had undergone treatment in a government hospital.

A massive fire caused by an explosion at a private container depot in southeastern Bangladesh has killed at least 16 people and injured over 450, officials said on Sunday.
On Saturday night, the fire broke out at BM Container Depot in the Kadamrasul area in Sitakunda Upazila in Chittagong.
At least 16 people have died in the fire and subsequent explosions at the depot in while hundreds of people, including police and fire service personnel sustained burn injuries in the incident, The Daily Star reported.
Over 450 people have been injured in this incident of which, at least 350 are at CMCH," Istakul Islam, chief of the Health & Service Department at Red Crescent Youth Chittagong was quoted as saying by the Dhaka Tribune.
"The death toll could be more at other hospitals, Islam said.
According to fire service sources, three of their workers were also killed during the incident.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday conducted raids at various important locations in the border district of Poonch here in connection with a terrorism-related case, officials said.
A special team of SIA Jammu visited the border district of Poonch in connection with the investigation of an important case of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, they said.
The team visited various important locations on the border and conducted search and seizure, they said.
It is worth mentioning here that Director SIA after reviewing the working of SIA Jammu has issued strict directions to speed up investigations to unearth terror networks.
China on Sunday launched three astronauts on a six-month mission to complete the construction of the country's space station currently orbiting the earth.

Hapur factory explosion death toll reaches 12 with 21 injured.
The blast took place after a boiler exploded in the factory that falls in the UPSIDC industrial area in Dholana.
Following the explosion, multiple firefighters rushed to the spot, which is around 80km from Delhi. Police said around 30 people were there in the affected area when the blast took place. Rescue and relief measures were taken up at the site, according to police. The impact of the blast was such that the roofs of some of the nearby factories suffered damage. It took three hours for the firefighters to tame the blaze in the factory.

PM Modi To Launch Global Initiative ‘LiFE Movement’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch an international initiative ‘Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Movement’ via video conferencing today. Prime Minister Modi will also deliver his keynote address during the event at 6pm.
The launch of this event will initiate ‘LiFE Global Call for Papers’, inviting ideas and suggestions from the academics, universities and research institutions, among others.
The programme will also witness participation of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation co-chairman Bill Gates, Climate Economist Lord Nicholas Stern, Nudge Theory author Professor Cass Sunstein, Nudge Theory CEO and President Aniruddha Dasgupta, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Global Head Inger Andersen, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Global Head Achim Steiner and World Bank President David Malpass among others.
PM Modi To Attend ‘Save Soil Movement’ Programme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an event on the ‘Save Soil Movement’ at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Sunday at 11 am on the occasion of World Environment Day, said the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday.
As per the press release by the PMO, ‘Save Soil Movement’ is a global initiative to increase awareness about deteriorating soil health and bring about a conscious response to remove it.
The press release further added, “The movement was started by Sadhguru in March 2022, who embarked on a 100-day motorcycle journey passing through 27 countries.”
PM Modi’s participation in the event will be reflective of the shared concerns and commitment towards improving the health of the soil in India, PMO said in a statement.
Hyderabad Gang-Rape Case: 3 Held, More Arrests Likely Today
After arresting three people allegedly involved in the gang-rape of a minor girl in Hyderabad, police said that their teams are on the job of apprehending the other accused and they will be apprehended within 48 hours.
Addressing a press conference on Friday night, Deputy Commissioner of Police Joel Davis said a case on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and under relevant sections of the POCSO Act was registered after they received a complaint from the father of the victim.
"Investigation teams have collected and analysed CCTV footage and other evidence, and have identified five people," Joel Davis said.
