New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yuva Morcha leader Rahul Singh, was booked on Sunday in connection with the murder of his wife Sneha Singh in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki earlier in the day.

A case has been filed against the BJP leader and 6 others, by the father of the deceased woman.

While Singh said that unknown miscreants shot her dead after robbing them of their belongings when they were travelling, the father of the woman has alleged it to be a case of dowry-death.

As per earlier information, Singh was driving a car accompanied by his wife 25-year-old wife Sneha Singh.

The incident reportedly took place when Singh's car crossed Fatehpur Kotwali's belhara Pul. Some unidentified miscreants reportedly dragged Singh out of his car an injured him, while shot his wife dead after she tried to fight them. They fled after robbing the couple of their belongings.

Singh was admitted to hospital for medical treatment.

The case took a new turn , when Singh's father in law levelled murder allegations on him, saying that Sneha was killed over dowry related matter.

“We had left our house at about 9 o’ clock, but when we reached the nahar, four to five people attacked us. We were brutally beaten our belongings including chain and rings were all snatched by them. I lost consciousness after getting injured. When I regained my senses, they had gone. I started looking for help then," Singh said.
