Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday took a cue from billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk's tweet to hit out at the Opposition.
Fadnavis, who mocked at the Opposition in the style of Tesla chief, tweeted, “And if I had a rupee for every #FakeNarrative attempted against me and our party by the opposition + #HMV s , BJP would be minting money!”
Responding to the charges against BJP over infrastructure projects going to Gujarat, Fadnavis on Monday said Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is out to defame the state by spreading the fake narrative of industries and investment leaving the state, reported news agency PTI. He said that the claims of industries going out of Maharashtra during the present government’s tenure were false as those had left due to the misgovernance of the previous regime.
Fadnavis's reaction comes amid the ongoing tussle between the ruling Eknath Shinde dispensation and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)-led opposition over the Tata-Airbus project to manufacture C-295 military transport aircraft moving from Maharashtra to Vadodara in Gujarat.
Commenting on the Rs 22,000-crore Tata-Airbus project going to Gujarat, Fadnavis claimed that the decision was finalised in 2021.
In a response to Fadnavis, Shiv Sena MLA and former minister Aaditya Thackeray said, “In fact, the reply on the issue was expected from chief minister Eknath Shinde and not the deputy CM. We lost all those projects which we could have got.”
He also refuted Fadnavis' claims that the previous MVA government did nothing to keep the Vedanta-Foxconn semiconductor plant in the state.
