New Delhi: Amid a controversy around a viral video purportedly showing BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri hurling communal slurs at BSP MP Danish Ali during Lok Sabha proceedings earlier this week, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday said the Lok Sabha Speaker should also probe the "unsavoury" conduct of Ali. Taking to X, Dubey wrote, “The Lok Sabha Speaker should also probe the unsavoury remarks and conduct of Danish Ali. Under Lok Sabha rules, obstructing another MP during the time allotted to him, speaking while sitting and giving a running commentary also call for punishment.”

Dubey claimed that the BSP leader made "highly objectionable and blasphemous" remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his unsavoury" conduct was more than enough to make any “patriotic public representative lose his calm and fall into his trap by uttering unsavoury words."

He also alleged that TMC and DMK members made remarks about faith of another community.

In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Dubey wrote, “I, therefore, request you to constitute an 'Inquiry Committee' to investigate the utterances made by various members during the said discussion and also to inquire the extent of culpability of various other members of Parliament in instigating our citizens by way of their comments made in the House.”

Dubey, however, condemned Bidhuri’s comments saying no amount of provocation justifies his action.

Meanwhile, in an apparent reaction to Dubey's claims, Danish Ali tweeted that some BJP leaders were trying to push the narrative that he instigated Bidhuri. "Truth is that I tried to protect the prime minister's dignity and urged the Chair to expunge from the House's records highly objectionable words used about Modi ji,” he wrote.

Congress’s K Suresh Demands Immediate Suspension Of Bidhuri

Congress chief whip in Lok Sabha K Suresh wrote to Speaker Om Birla demanding immediate suspension of Bidhuri, saying he brought “immense shame to the House” with his “communal” remarks, news agency PTI reported. Suresh was presiding over the proceedings when the incident took place.

“I am writing this letter to request your goodself to take the most immediate action on the matter cited herewith. Ever since I have assumed the responsibility of being on the panel of Chairpersons in the Lok Sabha, it has been my endeavour to ensure the spirit of the constitution and uphold the values of the August House,” Suresh wrote to Om Birla.

“The most appalling and unfortunate incident that shook the very core of every value to which we all stand guard, took place in the new Parliament House where Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP MP misbehaved and brought immense shame to the House,” Suresh wrote.
