Uttar Pradesh: The Bharatiya Janta Party is laying its hopes on and Backward classes for sweeping the 2019 General elections. In a dinner party organized at the residence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the party has given a target to its MLAs to reach out to 1 lakh villages in a period of next 5 months.
The party workers have also been directed to pick 20 people from every village, who would be chosen as party’s brand ambassadors.
These brand ambassadors would be given the task ranging from campaigning for the elections to management of the booth.
The party has 312 MLAs in Uttar Pradesh. Besides this, there are MLCs as well. In regions which neither have party MLA or MLC, the task of making links with backward classes has been assigned to either MP or a party minister.
In these 1 lakh villages, the party leaders would educate the people about the achievements of Modi government and also educate them about its cleanliness mission.
The MLAs would tell people on how diseases stay away through cleanliness.
The discussion on this drive took place at Chief Minsiter Yogi Adityanath’s residence; when all MLAs were called for a dinner party by CM on Thursday.
The MLAs have been asked to visit 5 villages per day to complete their target of 50 villages.
This comes after several nationwide protests were organised by backward classes against the government; which was followed by massive violence. Post this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ordered its ministers to increase their proximity with them; post which various leaders were seen spending time in their villages and eating in their homes; which was also interpreted as photo-ops.
