With Rajasthan assembly elections months away, former Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Thursday slammed Bhartiya Janta Party over the ‘Red Diary’ controversy, stating that the saffron party has "no issue left," news agency ANI reported.

Addressing queries about the alleged ‘red diary,' Pilot stated: "BJP has no issue left. They failed at the centre level as well as in the state. They are in opposition here but they failed here too...Congress will form government in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh."

The 'red dairy' for the Rajasthan cabinet was waved by expelled Rajasthan Congress MLA Rajendra Gudha, who said it included information on illegal financial activities. MLA Gudha said that the 'red' dairy had information about Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's suspected improper financial dealings. Notably, CM Gehlot sacked Gudha just hours after he raised the subject of women's safety in the Rajasthan cabinet.

Barbs were exchanged between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi is in Rajasthan to campaign for the BJP ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

On Thursday, PM Modi slammed CM Gehlot, claiming that the secrets in the diary will derail the ruling Congress in the next Assembly elections. CM Gehlot responded sharply, saying PM Modi could see a 'imaginary red diary' but not 'red tomatoes, red cylinders,' whose skyrocketing prices had affected lakhs of Indians' household budgets.

Rajasthan elections are set to take place on or before December 2023 to fill 200 seats in the state's Legislative Assembly.
