New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train from Una railway station to Delhi, as reported by the news agency ANI. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union minister, and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur were present during the event.
After flagging off the Vande Bharat train in Una, PM Modi said that the BJP govt at the Cetre is fulfilling the needs of the people which previous governments at the Centre and Himachal Pradesh failed to understand.
“My govt fulfilling the needs of the people, previous govt at the Centre and Himachal Pradesh failed to understand them,” news agency PTI quoted PM Modi as saying in Una. While addressing the public during the event PM Modi also said that the festival of Diwali has arrived early for Una and Himachal Pradesh.
“The festival of Diwali has arrived early for Una and Himachal Pradesh. Today I flagged off the inaugural run of the new Vande Bharat train. This is the 4th Vande Bharat train to be introduced in the country,” news agency ANI quoted PM Modi as saying.
He further said that the double-engine govt will invest Rs 2,000 crore in Bulk Drug Park in HP's Una. Medicines will become cheaper when both raw materials and production will take place in Himachal Pradesh, PM added.
This is the fourth Vande Bharat train in the country, the other three being run between New Delhi - Varanasi and New Delhi - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and between Gandhinagar and Mumbai.
The train will be running from Amb Andaura to New Delhi. It is an advanced version compared to the earlier ones, being much lighter and capable of reaching higher speed in a shorter duration.
Speaking on the occasion Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said, “Today we are at number seven in terms of Ease of Doing Business. I would like to thank PM Modi for giving Medical Device Park, and Bulk Drug Park to Himachal Pradesh. ”Today every house in Himachal Pradesh has a gas connection, he added.
“I thank PM Modi for giving Vande Bharat train, Bulk Drug Park to Himachal. PM Modi gave back special status to the state. Bulk Drug Park which can bring an investment of around 15-20,000 Cr & will give employment to over 30,000 given by PM Modi,” ANI quoted Union Minister Anurag Thakur as saying during the event.
PM Modi during his visit to Himachal Pradesh also dedicated the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Una to the nation and laid the foundation stone of Bulk Drug Park in Una.
