The development comes days after some 500 workers from the BJP had joined TMC earlier this week with some even shaving their heads "in penance for their sins".
These BJP activists rejoined TMC in the presence of local MP Aparupa Poddar at Balpai locality in the Khanakul area and alleged that they were fed up with the communal, hatred-filled policies of the saffron party and wanted to return to TMC.
Eight of those 500 activists had shaved their head during the homecoming event claiming that were repentant for their conduct during the assembly polls and were doing penance.
