On Sunday, Bose urged the people of the state to make the consecration event at the Ram temple in Ayodhya a joyful and pleasant occasion marked by peace and harmony.

He also advised people to be tolerant and not believe any misinformation.

In an official message from the Raj Bhavan, Bose stated, "On January 22, 2024, the nation will witness signature events that are intricately linked to its ethos." West Bengal will also host seminal events.

"On this special day when we redefine the essence of our nationhood through strong linkages to its great heritage and culture, let us resolve once again to share the glory and greatness of our Motherland," he stated.

He also appealed to "brothers and sisters of Bengal to make the occasion one of sweetness and light through peace and harmony. Friends, I urge everyone to be tolerant and not fall prey to disinformation. The law is on your side. It is time people rise in unison to promote social integration".

During the day, the city is scheduled to witness over 35 rallies, including Trinamool Congress' 'Sampriti Rally'.

According to a PTI report quoting a senior officer, 4,000 police officers would be stationed on city roadways, and multiple traffic diversions will be implemented to ensure that commuters do not encounter any hassles.

The intended rallies will go via Bhowanipore, Camac Street, Sealdah, Garfa, Patuli, Sakuntala Park, and the port regions, it said.
