The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted four more weeks to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's to file his rejoinder in his petition challenging the summonses issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Delhi Liquor Policy Scam.

A bench headed by Justice Suresh Kumar Kait gave Kejriwal four more weeks to file rejoinder to the plea which the ED had termed "infructuous" in the last hearing.

The counsel appearing for the ED had told the court that the plea filed by the Delhi CM had become infructuous following arrest by ED on March 21.

The ED arrested Kejriwal after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him interim protection from coercive action by the central probe agency.

In an earlier hearing the high court had observed that a single judge of the high court that rejected Kejriwal's plea against arrest has already dealt with his grievances and an appeal against that order is not being heard by the Supreme Court.

Senior advocate Vikram Chaudhary appearing for the Delhi CM however told the court that the issues raised in the petition pertaining to the interpretation of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) have not been decided by the single judge of the high court and sought more time from court to file reply.

The AAP chief was granted an interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court for campaigning in the Lok Sabha Elections. His case challenging the ED arrest is still pending in the top court. Kejriwal has skipped 9 summonses by ED in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case. He had challenged the summons issued to him by the central agency before his arrest in the high court. After his arrest, Kejriwal in another petition challenged the legality of his arrest. Delhi High Court upheld his arrest, following which he approached the apex court.

ED has accused The Delhi CM as the key conspirator and the kingpin in the Delhi Liquor Policy case.
