New Delhi: Days after he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government in an interview over its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic stating “there is much more to life than just image-building”, actor Anupam Kher on Friday appeared to be in damage control mode as he said “only those who work make mistakes”.
The actor put forth his views on Twitter sharing a few lines of verse, which many speculate is linked to the interview.
“Only those who work make mistakes. Ne’er-do-wells spend their lives only pointing out faults in others,” his tweet written in Hindi translates.
The actor, who has been a vocal proponent of the BJP-led NDA regime and has lauded Prime Minister Modi on several occasions, in an interview to NDTV earlier on Wednesday said that he believed the government “had slipped” in the Covid crisis and it was important to hold it responsible.

“Somewhere they have slipped ... it is time for them to understand that there is much more to life than just image-building maybe,” Kher said in in the interview.
“I think the criticism is valid in lots of cases and I think it is important for the government to rise to the occasion and do things that they are chosen by people of this country for,” he added.
The actor, however, during the interview emphasized that that other political parties should not gain from the government’s failures.
“But for another political party to use it for their gain is also not right,” he said.
