Amritpal Singh Case: Delhi and Punjab police arrested another alleged associate of 'Waris Punjab De' from Delhi's Tilak Vihar on Tuesday. The man is an insurance agent, reported PTI citing police. As per the report, a lookout circular and a non-bailable warrant have been issued against the Khalistan sympathiser.

The arrest comes amid an ongoing hunt to capture the radical preacher and his aides.

CCTV visuals of March 19 from Kurukshetra, Haryana, show Amritpal Singh using an umbrella to hide his identity. His aide Pappalpreet stayed at a house in the area.  A Haryana-based woman, identified as Baljeet Kaur has been arrested, for aiding them.

Fugitive extremist Amritpal Singh has been focusing on drug addicts and disgruntled ex-servicemen to help him develop a gang that could easily become a terrorist organisation, officials claimed on Thursday, news agency PTI reported.

They claimed that after returning from Dubai, Amritpal Singh established a drug rehabilitation facility in his village of Jallupur Kehra in the Punjabi province's Amritsar district, providing details of his travels and the plans he was reportedly going to carry out at the direction of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

According to the officials, he and his subordinates began searching for former soldiers who had been dismissed from the Army for misbehaviour so that they might be used to teach soldiers how to handle weapons, PTI reported.

Amritpal Singh had a cover of two private security guards when he returned last year and took over the "Waris Punjab De" group following the death of actor-activist Deep Sidhu. By early this year, the number of private security guards had increased to 16.

Khalistan allies and supporters of Amritpal Singh were moved out of Punjab after Central Intelligence agencies raised worries over conceivable escape and repeat of the Ajnala episode, reported news agency ANI. On February 23, this year, thousands of supporters of Amritpal entered the Ajnala police station in Amritsar to free a member who had been arrested in an abduction case.

After sharing their intelligence report on the arrested "Waris Punjab De" (WPD) associates under the National Security Act (NSA) and recommending moving them out of Punjab, intelligence agencies have confirmed this, according to a source, reported ANI.

For security reasons, Amritpal Singh's associates have been moved to the Dibrugarh jail in Assam.

If they had been imprisoned in Punjab, the arrested individuals would have engaged in jailbreaks, according to the report.
