A violent altercation at Duvvada Vigyan Engineering College in Visakhapatnam has left a junior student critically injured. The incident, which occurred during the college fest on Monday, involved a group of senior students allegedly assaulting the junior student with a rod, leading to severe injuries.

According to local reports, the clash erupted when seniors attacked the junior student, striking him on the head with a rod. Disturbing visuals of the incident, which have gone viral on social media, show a mob of students repeatedly kicking and pushing the victim to the ground. The victim, whose condition is reported to be critical, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Local authorities have registered a case against the accused students, but no arrests have been made so far. In a separate incident, Karyavattom Government College in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is once again under scrutiny after a first-year biotechnology student filed a formal complaint against seven third-year students. The complainant accused his seniors of physical assault and degrading acts of humiliation, including tying him up and subjecting him to brutal abuse.

The incident reportedly occurred on February 11, 2025, following a clash between senior and junior students. The altercation began after the complainant’s friend was allegedly beaten by seniors, prompting both parties to file police complaints. However, the situation escalated when the senior students allegedly abducted the complainant, tied him up in a room, and continued the assault.
