Six workers suffered injuries after a massive explosion rocked the MS Agarwal Steel Plant in Pennepalli, Tirupati district, on Wednesday night. The explosion reported approximately 10:15 PM was suspected to be triggered by a reported boiler malfunction.


According to eyewitnesses, there was a massive fireball erupting from the plant followed by a series of smaller explosions. The force of the blast shattered windows and caused structural damage to nearby buildings.


The injured workers were immediately taken to nearby government hospitals in Nellore and Nayudupeta.

The officials have temporarily closed the plant. 


A probe is also underway to find the exact cause of the blast. The residents of surrounding villages expressed fear over the safety and functioning of the plant in the future. 


Meanwhile, fire broke out in a multi-storied building in Madhapur of Hyderabad. The incident occurred around 6 AM at a bar-and-restaurant on the fifth floor of the Sattva Elixir building in Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City under the jurisdiction of the Raidurgam Police Station in the Cyberabad Commissionerate, as per a report on IANS. The fire, suspected to have been caused by a cylinder blast, spread to the fourth floor. The explosion partially damaged an adjacent building. The powerful blast and ensuing flames caused panic among software company employees in the neighboring structure.


Fire-fighting personnel quickly arrived on the scene, safely evacuating the employees. Thick smoke billowed from the building, located in the heart of the IT district, surrounded by modern high-rises. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported. According to Rangareddy District Fire Officer Shaik Khaja Karimullah, "Four fire engines rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control."
