Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on Saturday in a joint operation by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police & Srinagar Sector CRPF.
The encounter broke out near Halkan Gali in the Shangus-Larnoo area of the south Kashmir district.
One of the two militants killed in the encounter was a foreigner and the other was a local. Their group affiliation is yet to be ascertained, the officials said, reported PTI.
Another encounter broke out in the Khanyar area of Srinagar. So far, there are no reports of any casualties on either side, according to officials. However, two CRPF jawans and two policemen were injured in the encounter which was launched on Saturday morning following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, according to officials.
The search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire at the search party, which retaliated, they said.
The two CRPF jawans and the two policemen injured in the gunfight were taken to the Army's 92 Base Hospital. Their condition is stated to be stable, the officials said.

The operation is underway.
The Saturday development comes a day after two labourers were shot at by terrorists in Budgam district on Friday. Sufiyan and Usman came under attack in the Mazhama area of Magam in the central Kashmir district, according to the officials.
Both the men were taken to a hospital where their condition was said to be stable.
This was the fifth terror attack in the Kashmir valley since a new government was formed in the Union Territory last month.
