Amritpal Singh Case: The hunt is on to arrest the separatist leader Amritpal Singh whose last location was traced in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana. After the development, Haryana police has stepped up its vigil to catch the radical preacher. 


Here Are Key Developments  



  • As per PTI, Amritpal and his associate Papalpreet Singh were reportedly harboured by a woman at her home in Kurukshetra’s Shahabad on March 19. However, their whereabouts remain unknown as of now. PTI quoted a senior Punjab police official as saying: "As soon as we came to know that he has sneaked out of Punjab, we immediately alerted the other states."  


 



  • Haryana's Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mamta Singh Friday said there is no further input about where Amritpal went from Shahabad, PTI reported. "So far, there is no other input. However, we are on alert and keeping a watch," Singh told PTI over the phone. 


 



  • The woman who helped Amritpal and his associate has been identified as Baljit Kaur and was nabbed on Thursday. She was being questioned by the Punjab police. 


 



  • Police said that he was planning to form a private militia force Anandpur Khalsa Fauj (AKF).


 



  • A CCTV also footage surfaced on Thursday showing Amritpal in a shirt and trousers and hiding behind an umbrella in Haryana's Shahabad. Later, another footage claimed to be of March 20 also came forth, in which the radical preacher could be seen carrying an umbrella and moving on a road opposite the Shahabad bus stand, Haryana police sources said, quoted PTI. 


 



  • Meanwhile, Police analysed the phone of Amritpal’s close aide Tajinder Singh Gill and recovered photos and videos of the State emblem and logo of the proposed Khalistan state. Images of emblems of several provinces in the proposed Khalistan State were also found. SSP Khanna said that currency bills (10 Khalistani dollar) of the proposed Khalistan state, the hologram logo of AKF, photos of members of AKF with weapons, driving license photo of a Pakistani national were also recovered.  


 



  • Police said that the above mentioned incriminating material shows the sinister designs of this nascent militia force Anandpur Khalsa Fauj (AKF) and the enormous threat they would have become for peace and harmony of Punjab and national security. All of this has been averted by the timely action of the Punjab Police. Further investigation is going on and forward-backward linkages are being established, they added. 


 



  • The driver of the car on which Amritpal along with his associate Papalpreet was seen sitting in Jalandhar said that both of them had asked him to take them to a tyre repair shop as their bike's tyre had got punctured, reported PTI. 


 



  • The driver claimed to have no information about Amritpal’s location. 


 



  • A video has also emerged showing one of Amritpal's associates shooting at a firing range in Singh's native village Jallupur Khera in the Amritsar district. Photos of some associates posing with weapons are also doing rounds containing the hologram of AKF.
