Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday attended a cooperative convention in Gujarat's Amreli district and will unveil a 16-foot-tall monument of Lord Hanuman at Somnath later in the day.


According to news agency PTI, Amit Shah will attend many programmes in Ahmedabad, Amreli, and Somnath. This comes as Gujarat is seeing a lot of political activities being a poll-bound state with significant ramifications for all parties involved.

Amit Shah began his tour by addressing a convention of cooperative organisations in Amreli district in his home state, where Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.


The Minister of Union Cooperation attended the Amreli cooperative society's general assembly. The BJP has formed a coalition with different cooperative societies, municipalities, district panchayats, taluka panchayats, and village panchayats.






The Home Minister will thereafter travel to the Gir Somnath area to worship at the Somnath Mahadev temple.


Shah will also unveil a 16-foot monument of Lord Hanuman in Somnath town, as well as 262 stores known as 'Maruti Haat' along the Arabian Sea beachfront.


The Department of Science and Technology in Ahmedabad is hosting a two-day colloquium at Science City. Amit Shah will attend the conclave's closing ceremony.


With the tagline "Anusandhan Se Samathan," the conference, which is being hosted for the first time with STI Vision 2047, focuses on innovative technologies and "ease of living" applicable to various states/UTs.
