Gurugram: In the wake of the rising coronavirus cases across the country and Haryana recording the highest single day spike of 4,319 cases on Friday, the Gurugram district administration has issued an order directing all shops, including shopping malls, plazas and community markets, to close by 6 p.m. every day.

The order issued by Gurugram District Magistrate Yash Garg, however, excludes shops coming in the “essential categories”.

The order exempts pharmaceutical and grocery shops while granting the restaurants permission to operate only for home delivery.

In order to contain the recent surge in Covid-19 cases of infections across Haryana, the state government had recently imposed night curfew in the state.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had earlier on Tuesday said that the Covid-19 situation in Haryana was under control, adding the government was not considering the option of imposing lockdown in the state.
