All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owais was seen offering prayers on Alvida Jumma - the last Friday of Ramzan, in Hyderabad, Telangana, on Friday. Alvida Jumma is a special namaz marking the last day of the month-long of fasting and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and its supporters attended namaz with a black armband on their right hand to protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.

Earlier, AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Mohammed Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi issued a video appeal posted on the Board's X handle, urging people to wear a black armband on their right hand while attending the Juma prayers.

AIMPLB member Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli, while speaking to ANI, said, “AIMPLB and other Muslim organisations had spoken about the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and how we do not approve of it…With this Bill, Waqf properties would be in the danger zone.”

He further explained that more than 90 percent of Waqf properties consist of mosques, dargahs and cemeteries. “But nobody has listened to our plea of not turning this Bill into law”. He then said, "On this day of 'Alvida,' we have appealed to all Muslims to wear black armbands to register their protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill."
