New Delhi: A woman constable posted in Allahabad's women police station tried to commit suicide by immolating herself up.
Monica Singh was recently suspended by SSP Allahabad for wrongful possession of police quarter.
The woman constable, reportedly, alleged that IPS officer Ganesh Saha spoke bad words to her as a result of which she took the extreme step.
However, while talking to ABP Live's Anurag Kumar Ganesh Saha said that nothing of this sort had happened.
"I was in Chhath Puja duty since Sunday morning so there is no chance of meeting her and uttering dirty words to her," Saha said.
"I have been given the responsibility of inquiry regarding the house in which she was living," he said.
Talking about the inquiry in-depth, IPS officer said-"Every women police station has a male driver. The driver is provided an accommodation. Since last few years, Monica Singh was living wrongfully in the accommodation which is supposed to be allocated to male driver. And she was asking for further permission to remain there."
"Plus, she was also claiming HRA (House Rent Allowance) which is given only in case you are not living in government quarters", Saha elaborated.
"I asked for the report from the Station Officer (SO) of the women police station who has confirmed the finding," the IPS officer added.
