Two days after being removed from the post of Bahujan Samaj Party national co-ordinator by party chief Mayawati, her nephew Akash Anand said that the BSP supremo is an ideal for the entire Bahujan samaj and crores of countrymen worship her. In a post on X on Thursday, Anand said that he will continue to fight for Bhim Mission till his last breath.
"You are an ideal for the entire Bahujan samaj, crores of countrymen worship you. It is because of your struggles that today our samaj has got such a political power due to which the Bahujan Samaj has been able to learn to live with respect. You are our universally accepted leader...I will continue to fight for Bhim Mission and my society till my last breath," Akash Anand said.
On Tuesday, Mayawati removed nephew Akash Anand as the party's national co-ordinator and her successor "until he attains full maturity." The decision of the BSP supremo came on the day of third phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections.
In a post in Hindi on X, Mayawati said, BSP is also a movement for self-respect and self-esteem of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and social change for which Shri Kanshi Ram ji and I have dedicated our entire lives and a new generation is also being prepared to give it momentum.
The decision came days after the party cancelled all the political rallies of Akash. Akash had started the BSP campaign from Nagina Lok Sabha seat on 6 April. He addressed several rallies in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Agra, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh and Kaushambi. Mayawati also said that Akash's father Anand Kumar will continue to perform his duties in the party like before.
Last month, a case was registered against Akash Anand on April 28 for allegedly using unparliamentary words and making a statement to create enmity between people during a rally in Sitapur. Anand had attacked out at the BJP in his speech.
