New Delhi: Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni is likely to step into politics after retiring from international cricket, as per former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Sanjay Paswan. He said that Dhoni can become a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team. Since the exit of Team India in 2019 World Cup, the news of Dhoni's retirement is holding fast.

Sanjay Paswan said, "Dhoni can join BJP and he has been talking about this for a long time." He said, "There is talk on this issue for a long time, though decision will be taken only after Dhoni's retirement."
He further said, "Dhoni is my acquaintance, he is a world famous player and he is trying to connect with the party." Before the Lok Sabha elections, BJP President Amit Shah during his 'Contact for Support' program met Dhoni.
