Dinesh Vaghela, a founding member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has passed away in Goa after a short illness, confirmed an AAP leader on Tuesday, news agency PTI reported. Vaghela, aged 73, breathed his last at his home in Panaji on Monday night, according to Valmiki Naik, the vice president of AAP Goa.
According to the AAP’s official website, Vaghela served as a member of the National Executive of the Aam Aadmi Party and was among the earliest individuals to join the party following the India Against Corruption movement.
Hailing from Gujarat, Vaghela resided in Goa. He was in charge of AAP's disciplinary committee, as indicated on the website.
Naik mentioned that Vaghela's last rites would take place at the St Inez Crematorium near Panaji later in the day.
