New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray will hold an important meeting with the elected legislators of the party. The meeting will take place at 12 pm at Hotel The Retreat, Malad, where the MLAs are lodged.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is also likely to be present during the meeting.

This comes a day before the Fadnavis-led BJP government has been asked to prove majority in state assembly.

Meanwhile name of Uddhav Thackeray for Chief Minister has also started doing rounds within the party, sources said.

Governor BS Koshyari has invited Devendra Fadnavis to form government in the state. According to media reports, Fadnavis-led BJP government in Maharashtra will have to proved majority in the state assembly on November 11, Monday. Saturday was the last day of Maharashtra Assembly's previous term.

"The Governor today asked Devendra Fadnavis, the leader of the elected members of the single-largest party, the BJP, to indicate the willingness and ability of his party to form the government in Maharashtra," an official statement read.

In the recently conducted Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP emerged as the single-largest party but remained shy of the majority mark with 105 seats in a house 288 members. In case, Fadnavis accepts Governor's invitation and claims his stake to power in Maharashtra, he will have to resolve issue with Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena at the earliest possible to prove majority in the state assembly.
