Srinagar: Eight civilians including three CRPF jawans were injured when suspected militants hurled a grenade at security forces in a south Kashmir village, police said on Tuesday.


The grenade exploded when a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party was patrolling the area.

The incident took place on the roadside in Bon Bazar area of Shopian district, said reports.

The injured had been shifted to a hospital, said cops.

The attack has come amid security forces are battling an unknown number of heavily-armed militants holed up inside Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) building of government in Pampore area of Pulwama district, which also lies in south Kashmir.
