A video of a man being dragged behind a scooter on Bengaluru's Magadi Road has surfaced online. The victim is currently under treatment at a city hospital.

DCP, West Bengaluru, said: "The two-wheeler driver has been caught by the Govindaraj Nagar police."

In the video, the man can be seen hanging on to the pillion rider's seat handle. The rider finally stops and parked by the road when he was blocked by other motorists and passersby. The scooter seemed to have been in an accident recently as its parts, which were broken, in the front hung loosely.

The man on the scooter has been identified as Saheel, a 25-year-old resident of Nayandahalli. The victim has been identified as a car driver, Muthappa, aged 71m who is under medical treatment at a hospital, ANI reported quoting police officials.

A case into the matter has been registered, ANI reported.

According to initial reports, the biker collided with an SUV on Tuesday afternoon, and when confronted, the two-wheeler rider attempted to flee, pulling the SUV driver for over a kilometre from the Magadi Road toll gate to the Hosahalli metro station.

The motorcyclist is stopped after pulling him for approximately a kilometre by another biker and a rickshaw driver who were on his tail.

According to authorities, the victim is currently receiving medical treatment at a city hospital, and the accused driver has been captured near PS Govindaraj Nagar, as per the report.

Notably, the event occurs about two weeks after a 20-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Delhi. During the accident, the victim, Anjali Singh, became entangled under the wheels of an automobile and was carried for nearly 13 kilometres, resulting in her death.
