At least 3 people have been injured after an under-construction flyover on Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway near Daulatabad collapsed on Sunday morning. Locals and rescue teams have rushed to the spot. Initial reports suggest that a serious mishap was averted as traffic volume was low when the incident took place.


NHAI) said the reasons for the collapse are yet to be ascertained.


The fire and rescue team were at the spot of the mishap.


"Three workers have been injured in the incident where a portion of an under-construction flyover on Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway near Daulatabad collapsed around 7.30 am today," the police said.


Construction of the 27.6-km long Dwarka Expressway is estimated to cost Rs 9,000 crore. The project had been conceptualised in 2007 as a northern ring road that would provide an alternative route connecting the national capital and neighboring Gurgaon. While 18.1 km of it will run in Haryana, the remaining 9.5 km will be in Delhi.
