Eleven persons have been detained and the SHO Sarhali Kalan police station has been removed from his post in connection with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack. The low-intensity blast took place on Saturday morning in Punjab’s police station. 






The state government has replaced SHO Parkash Singh with Sukhbir Singh. 






Earlier o nSaturday, the members of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS) investigated the blast site at the Sarhali Kalan police station in Tarn Taran.


On Saturday morning, some unidentified people fired a projectile at the Sarhali police station located on the Amritsar-Bathinda highway in the border district. 


Following the blast, Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that the "cowardly attack" was carried out by "enemy nation in the night to distract". 


Talking to the media, Punjab DGP said, "This year, there have been around 200 drone crossings. In the last one month, several drones were intercepted, heroin and arms were seized. I believe that the enemy nation is rattled and is carrying out a cowardly attack in the night, to distract."


AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday that stringent action will be taken against the culprits behind the low-intensity blast.


"Stringent action will be taken. Since AAP came to power, big gangsters nabbed in Punjab. People who were acting under the protection of old parties were caught. Strict action will be taken," he said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.
