New Delhi: A day after reporting a significant dip in Covid cases, India on Tuesday recorded 50,848 new cases of deadly Coronavirus. The Union Health Ministry in its daily health bulletin reported that in the last 24 hours, the active caseload came down to 6,43,194, which is lowest in 82 days. While 1,358 Covid infected people lost lives, 68,817 patients were discharged in last 24 hours. 


With this, the total cases of Covid-19 recorded in country till date are 3,00,28,709. A total of 2,89,94,855 patients have recovered and been discharged while the death toll stands at 3,90,660. The recovery rate rises to 96.56 percent while the daily positivity rate is at 2.67 per cent.

As on 23rd June, 2021, 8:00 AM, total vaccine doses administered so far are 29,46,39,511. Of these, 54,24,374 vaccine doses were administered in last 24 hours. ICMR in its daily report informed that about 19,01,065 samples for Covid-19 were tested in past 24 hours. With this, the total sampels tested up to 22 June 2021 are 39,59,73,198.  


Central government on Tuesday declared the Delta Plus variant of the Coronavirus as a 'variant of concern' in India. The Union Health Ministry has alerted and advised Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh regarding the Delta Plus variant of COVID19 being found in some districts in these States.
