The latest version of the scooter gets five new colours and a couple of nifty features
Honda has launched the 2018 version of the Activa-i at a price of Rs 50,010, which is Rs 440 more than the older version. The automatic scooter comes in five new colours and a couple of nifty features. It competes against the TVS Scooty Zest, Hero Pleasure, Yamaha Ray-ZR and the Suzuki Let's.
Launched back in 2013, the Activa-i has always been overshadowed by its elder sibling, the Activa. However, the former features a sleeker design and weighs 6kg less than it’s elder sibling at 103kg (kerb). Honda hopes the addition of new colours - blue, red, magenta, purple and grey - and features will help make the scooter more popular than before.
Apart from the new colours, it also gets a four-in-one ignition lock and a seat opener switch, which we’ve already seen on the 2018 Honda Dio, Honda Activa 5G and the Honda Grazia. Other additions include a metallic exhaust, a front hook and a dual-tone analogue instrument cluster.
Powering the scooter is the same engine as before. The 109cc motor continues to churn out 8PS of power and 9Nm of torque. Its underpinnings remain unchanged as well with Honda's spring type suspension on both ends. Braking is handled by drum units at the front and rear along with Honda's CBS (Combi Braking System).
