New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the CB Hornet 160R Special Edition to add to its top selling motorcycle range in the 150 cc segment. The special edition bears visual enhancements as new body graphics and colour options.

The standard trim of the motorcycle is priced Rs. 81,413 and the variant with CBS is priced Rs. 85,912 (ex-showroom prices, Delhi). The Honda has launched this special edition to enhance its success in the segment, as it posed tough competition to the immensely successful Bajaj Pulsar 150, TVS Apache RTR 160, Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ-S V2.0.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R Special Edition subscribes to a sort of matte-black finished styling with two colours options of Mars Orange and Striking Green. The side decals are also matched with the colour options, as Green and Orange. A pinstripe also runs along the alloy, matched with the colour scheme chosen.

The seat panel also goes matte black unlike the silver finish of the standard trim. The exhaust is also full matte black with a slightly greyish heat cover. Other accessories as the grab rail, air vent scoop, etc. also are matte black, while the suspension looks gloss-finished with black.

With no mechanical changes, the Special Edition comes with a BS-IV adhering 162.71 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 15.6 bhp of power and 14.76 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The braking system consists of the dual disc brake and rear drum in the standard Special Edition model and Combi-Braking System in the CBS model, while telescopic forks suspension in the front and rear monoshock are standard.

The Special Edition will make the Honda CB Hornet 160R range an enticing option during the festive season, as it also has an all-digital instrument console, wide rear tyres, etc. making it more modern.
