New Delhi: Never thought this day would come when you could see through your television? Chinese electronics company Xiaomi unveiled the next big thing, with the new Mi TV Lux OLED Transparent Edition, a fully transparent TV! In traditional TVs, there is a back panel to power the television but in Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition all the processing units are in the base stand. The body 5.7mm ultra-thin rectangular screen attached to a round base stand is covered with a millimeter-grade finish and together it gives an ultra-immersive viewing experience. It comes with a 55-inch transparent OLED panel that features a 150000:1 static contrast ratio and an infinite dynamic contrast ratio. It has a DCI-P3 93 percent color spectrum support, the 10-bit panel displays 1.07 billion color combinations.
Xiaomi also said that “TV comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 120Hz MEMC technology, providing consumers with smoother and clearer motion representation. The 1ms fast response rate also makes gaming truly lifelike with smooth controls and low latency.”

“The system also supports Always-On display and allows users to customize display images and texts.”
When it comes to sound, Xiaomi claims that through AI Master for Audio the Mi TV Lux can “intelligently detect the type of content playing and choose a fitting audio mode from a list spanning movies, music, newsfeed, sports, and others.”
The company has priced Mi TV Lux OLED at 49,999 yuan which is roughly ₹5.38 lakhs after conversion. It is not said whether they plan to launch it outside of China.
