The ABP News team was attacked on Monday while covering the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar, as demonstrations over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak turned violent. ABP News reporter Varun Bhasin was manhandled and assaulted by protesters before Delhi Police intervened and escorted the crew to safety. The incident unfolded amid clashes between protesters and police during the party's planned march towards Parliament.
ABP News Team Attacked
The attack took place while the ABP News team was reporting from the protest site at Jantar Mantar.
Speaking about the incident, ABP News reporter Varun Bhasin said the crowd had become increasingly aggressive as the protest gathered momentum.
"When we reached the ground to cover the protest, the crowd had no identifiable face. Along with students, several young men were continuously targeting media vehicles. They were recording videos, attempting to damage cameras and have now started pelting stones at the media," Bhasin said.
Delhi Police intervened during the incident and safely escorted the ABP News team away from the protest site. Protesters also allegedly attacked police personnel during the unrest.

Clashes During Parliament March
The demonstration was organised to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and other examination-related irregularities.
As protesters attempted to march towards Parliament, they were stopped by Delhi Police personnel deployed to maintain law and order. The confrontation escalated after demonstrators tried to breach security barricades.
A large police contingent had been stationed at Jantar Mantar since Monday morning, with anti-riot vehicles also deployed in anticipation of the march. Authorities had strengthened security across the area and imposed restrictions to prevent an unauthorised procession towards Parliament.
Police used force to stop protesters from crossing barricades, leading to clashes between demonstrators and security personnel. Reports also emerged of a lathi-charge during the confrontation.
