A Total Of 251 Myanmar Refugees Seek Shelter In Mizoram After Airstrikes On Insurgent Camp

A total of 251 Myanmarese refugees have sought shelter in Mizoram's Champhai district after the recent airstrikes on an insurgent camp by the armed forces of the neighbouring country, an official said on Wednesday. Champhai Deputy Commissioner James Lalrinchhana told PTI that 251 Myanmar citizens have entered India and taken shelter in three villages in Champhai since the airstrikes on the headquarters of Chin National Army (CNA). The Myanmar armed forces had launched two aerial attacks targeting Camp Victoria, the military headquarters of CNA located close to the India-Myanmar border, on January 10 and 11.

The women who've taken India to great heights have assembled in Jantar Mantar to ask for justice. It's shameful," Maliwal said. "We've sent notices to Delhi police & Union sports ministry. Immediate justice should be served in this case. WFI President should be arrested & stern action should be taken against the coaches whose names have come up in the matter," she added.

Delhi Police Busts Espionage Network 'Leaking' Finance Ministry Information, One Held

Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted an espionage network invoked in leaking sensitive information related to the Ministry of Finance. Contractual employee Sumit, a data entry operator was arrested for espionage activities in lieu of money and providing classified data to foreign countries, news agency ANI reported. During his search, one mobile phone which was being used by him for sharing secret information related to the Ministry of Finance was recovered. A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act, Delhi Police Crime Branch said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the second phase of Saansad Khel Mahakumbh in UP's Basti district via video conferencing and said that such opportunities "give local sportspersons to fly". 

"Delighted that a grand Khel Mahakumbh has been organised here. This'll give an opportunity for local sportspersons to fly. I've been told that around 200 MPs of India oragnised such events in their constituencies," he said. 

"I'm an MP from Kashi. Even there, a series of such sports events has begun. By organising such Khel Mahakumbh at several places & organising MP Sports Events, MPs are working to build the future of the new generation," he added. 

The PM said that the Mahakumbh will benefit country's youth power as young athletes who perform well at Saansad Khel Mahakumbh are being selected for further training at Sports Authority of India's training centres.

Another speciality of Saansad Khel Mahakumbh is that our daughters are participating in it in large numbers. I am confident that the daughters of Basti, Purvanchal, UP and the country will similarly show their strength in national and international competitions, he added.
