The MP-MLA court in Lucknow has framed charges against Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party MLA Bediram and Nishad Party MLA Vipul Dubey in connection with the Railway Group D paper leak case. Additionally, charges have been framed against 18 other individuals involved in the case.


Bediram and Vipul Dubey had filed applications to dismiss the case, but the court rejected their pleas. The STF had arrested Bediram in 2006 in relation to this case, and he is currently out on bail.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday strongly defended himself in connection with the alleged fraudulent allotment of sites to land losers by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), including to his wife Parvathi, and asserted that neither he or his family has any role in it.        


He accused the opposition BJP and JD(S) of making  politically motivated allegations against him out of hate and revenge, with an intention to put a black mark on his image, as they are unable to digest that he has become Chief Minister for the second time.        Siddaramaiah also said that the Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has sought a report from the government regarding the alleged irregularities in MUDA and a report will be sent as everything is totally and absolutely legal.        


The CM's rebuttal came a day after the BJP and JD(S)  turned up the heat on him in connection with the 'scam' both inside and outside the state legislature.

Ordering the continuation of its interim order in the Kanwar Yatra name plate case, the Supreme Court on Friday said eateries will not be forced to display owner or employee names outside their establishments till the verdict in the matter is delivered. The UP government had earlier made it mandatory for shopowners along the Kanwar Yatra route to prominently display their names, reported legal news website Bar and Bench


However, the Supreme Court said anyone who voluntarily wants to display ownership details outside their shops and eateries can do so and there is no bar on that. The next hearing on the matter will be held on Monday. READ MORE

Breaking LIVE: Mumbai On 'Red Alert' As Rain Fury Continues, Cops Ask People To 'Stay Indoors'

Incessant rain over the last 24 hours wreaked havoc in several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, where several areas experienced flooding, disrupting day-to-day life. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a "red alert" in the coastal city till 8.30 am on Friday predicting extremely heavy rainfall. 


Heavy showers and low visibility in Mumbai hit normal operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Thursday with runway suspensions and flight diversions or cancellations. Several areas in the city also experienced flooding, with two out of the seven lakes that supply water to Mumbai overflowing. Sion, Chembur, and Andheri areas of the city were severely affected by waterlogging.


In a nowcast warning issued at 7 am today, IMD said moderate spells of rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Palghar, Raigad, Thane, Ratnagiri, Mumbai and ghat areas of Pune and Satara during the next few hours. READ MORE

Breaking LIVE: CBI Detains German National Of Indian Origin With 6 Kg Cocaine At Delhi Airport

The CBI on Thursday detained a German citizen of Indian origin allegedly possessing six kilograms of cocaine at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here based on an Interpol intelligence, officials said.


The central probe agency had received an input from Interpol that Ashok Kumar, a German national, travelling from Doha to Delhi on Indigo flight 6E 1308 was allegedly carrying narcotics with him, they said.


The CBI scrambled a team of officers to the airport here to intercept Kumar, they said.

All schools and Anganwadi centres in Dehradun will remain closed on July 26 in view of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issuing an 'orange' alert for heavy rain in the district, a senior official said on Thursday. The decision was taken to prevent any untoward incidents, District Magistrate Sonika said in an official order.


All government and private schools from class 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centres in Dehradun will remain closed on Friday in view of an 'orange' alert issued by the NDMA's National Disaster Alert Portal for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the district, Sonika said.

PM Modi To Visit Kargil On Friday On 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Kargil War Memorial on July 26 and pay homage to the Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, his office said on Thursday.


The prime minister is to also carry out the first blast of the Shinkun La Tunnel Project virtually.


"On the occasion of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2024, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit the Kargil War Memorial at around 9:20 AM and pay homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty," the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement. In a post on X, Modi stated that July 26 is a very special day for every Indian.


Trump To Meet Netanyahu In Florida On Friday 


Republican presidential candidate and former US president Donald Trump stated on Tuesdaythat he would meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on Friday.


Netanyahu is in Washington and on Wednesday he will address a joint session of the US Congress, the only foreign leader to do so for a fourth time. He would also meet with President Joe Biden at the White House on Thursday, as per PTI report.


“At the request of Bibi Netanyahu, we have switched this meeting to Friday, July 26th at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida!” Trump said.


“Looking forward to welcoming Bibi Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on Thursday (July 25),” he had earlier said in a post of Truth Social, a social media platform.


“During my first term, we had Peace and Stability in the Region, even signing the historic Abraham Accords - And we will have it again,” he said.
